Truffaut's first directorial effort, Les Mistons (1957). The short film follows five boys who become enamored with an older woman, and who become envious when she takes on a lover. Truffaut would later reuse themes of bittersweet, impossible loves and using a child's perspective in the Doinel cycle and other films.
